Isa- My favorite boss fight in the game, the ice giant Isa is not easy to beat. As long as you dodge the big dwarven hammers and avoid her shield slams, you’ll be fine. Take them all down as fast as you can because the falling stalactites shred her health bar. When you get Fe low enough, pillars start to form on the outside perimeter of the ring. If the dwarves are still overpowering you, try to lead them around the pit until Fe winds up her shield to throw – let the cave giant kill her own underlings. After she summons her dwarven minions and shouts to have them attack you, throw down a decoy and start wailing at her feet. At this point in the game, you should have unlocked Loki’s Decoy power, which will make this boss fight much easier. Soon enough, she’ll be mulch and you can move on to the next zone.įe- The only Jotun that isn’t an elemental, Fe has an army of dwarves at her bidding that want to do nothing more than to send you to Hel. When the flower appears in Jera’s stomach, start hitting her with everything you got. Chop down the tentacles, stay near the blue flower when the gas cloud hits and learn the pattern of her punches (it’s always left to right) and you’ll have no problems beating her. You need to dodge the summoned tentacles that slam the ground, outrun the poison gas cloud so you don’t choke to death and make sure not to end up a pancake under her massive fists. She might be the first giant, but that doesn't mean she’s easy to take down. Jera - The first real boss you face is Jera, a nature Jotun who uses plants and vines to destroy you. If you are having trouble slaying the mighty Jotun, here are some tips to help you knock these giants down to size. If you are new to the game, expect to get your asses whooped by the Jotun– giant bosses who are not easy to slay. Now that the game is officially out on the Xbox One and Playstation 4, tons of new players are going to travel to Valhalla and explore the nine realms covered by Norse mythology. The gorgeous art and the challenging puzzles keep you glued to your television set the whole way through. Overall it’s definitely worth the purchase and while the gameplay itself won’t last you more than around 5-6 hours, the world is so beautiful and the gameplay is extremely satisfying (and also challenging), making it an absolute must have.Jotun: Valhalla Edition is not an easy game. If you see this game on sale make sure to pick it up. The narration, soundtrack and artwork are something truly special and a testament to indie game development. The game is an acquired taste in terms of difficulty, but an audio-visual masterpiece. Generally the game will set you back around £12 depending on platform, but is very often on sale up to 75%, allowing you to pick it up for less than £5. The process of figuring these bosses out and beating them is extremely satisfying. These fights can be very frustrating and you will suffer a quick death if you make too many mistakes. Each Jotun will have various phases, attack patterns and timings that you will need to learn and master in order to get past them. The sense of scale is something the game plays with really successfully by pitting you – a tiny human against some truly gigantic deities. Once you have collected the appropriate runes you face off against a boss, and boy do these bosses pack a punch. Often you will also find special shrines that give you some interesting skills ranging from healing and shields to decoys and even the blessing of Thor’s hammer. Each big boss (known as Jotun) fight is preceded by a couple of relatively peaceful missions to find some runes, often accompanied by a puzzle of sorts. This is quite a challenging game which will have you in potential fits of anger as you face up against some of the later bosses. You play as Thora – a recently deceased human wielding a massive two-handed axe. Battle your way past gods and figure out weird puzzles on your way through the afterlife. Jotun: Valhalla Edition made by Thunder Lots Games is an amazingly aesthetic game based on Norse mythology.
